VPN Access

ONLY CARRY OUT THIS WHEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO!!!

At the later stage of some courses, your lecturer may create AD accounts for you in the teaching data centre (KMN). Once these accounts have been created, you will be able to access the data centre remotely using a VPN.

Do not carry out these steps on a work laptop or one that is joined to a domain.

There are several versions of the Forticlient software available, download the VPN client only.

Install this and then open it.

Click on Configure VPN.

Select IPSEC VPN and then fill in the fields as shown.

If you are a student, your username is your L number (e.g. L00123456).

If you are staff, it will be in the form of firstname.surname.

Your password will be provided by your lecturer.

Your lecturer will provide you with the pre-shared key.

Click Save.

Click Connect.

You are in!

Discuss with your lecturer the next steps to access services, these are normally allocated on a per class basis.
